I spent another day dropping items and visiting with new Syrian families. I want to tell you some of their stories when I see them.
One of the families just arrived 5 days ago – a couple and their five kids. They’re 9-17 years old. They were by far the most cheerful family I’ve seen – saying “patience is necessary, thank God we are here now” over and over with sincerity.
They had another guest come with a couch while we were there – another refugee man who had only arrived five months before.
He brought with him extra laughs. Apparently they were very lucky – they were from the same town in Syria, ended up in the same area in Jordan, and made it to the US only a few months apart. They live less than a kilometer from each other. You can tell they love each other very much!
